Historical Overview

The Faculty of Theology was established in 1953 under the name of the Middle East Theological Institute – in Port Said Governorate – to educate and train ministers and leaders – and its activity stopped after three years as a result of the tripartite aggression on Egypt in 1956 – where the building was damaged and was renovated after that, and its activity resumed again until the war in 1967 and a year later the faculty moved abroad to open its doors in Beirut (Lebanon)

The Middle East Theological Institute enjoyed a period of stability, growth and clear blessings as the number of students enrolled from neighboring Arab countries increased – but the political situation in Lebanon began to become confused and violence increased until the civil war broke out in 1975, which prompted it to return again to Egypt and then settled in the house of Lian Trasher in Assiut and from there it branched out to other branches

It is a member of the Middle East Theological Colleges Association (MENATE Association) Most of the study materials are accredited by Global University. The faculty is also a member of the Euro-Asia Association. The college was accredited on October 26, 1990 by the General Evangelical Council under No. 1969/04.
